Because compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) save a significant amount of energy when compared to traditional light bulbs. You help the environment every time you replace an incandescent bulb with a CFL or LED light.
CFL* stands for compact fluorescent lamp. A CFL is a small fluorescent light bulb that uses 75% less energy than a traditional incandescent bulb and can last up to 10 times longer. CFL bulbs can cut your electricity costs dramatically as each bulb could save up to $30 in electricity costs in its lifetime.

LED stands for light emitting diode. LEDs are very efficient lights that commonly are used in flashlights and holiday lighting. They have a very long life - up to 100,000 hours and are suitable for use in all types of weather. A holiday light strand of LEDs use 10 times less electricity than a strand of mini-lights and use a 100 times less energy than C-7 bulbs.
