Avoiding False Alarms

What to do if you accidentally set off your security alarm

  • Stay calm, do not panic, and disarm your system with your pass code
  • Call your monitoring company to let them know you have accidentally set off your alarm
  • Identify why the alarm was accidentally set off and address the issue to make sure it doesn't happen again

How to avoid false alarms

  • When your system is completely installed, make sure the technician properly trains you on all of the features of the alarm system
  • Make sure everyone with access to your home or business knows how to use the security system. This includes employees, contractors, and anyone else with a key. If you have questions about your system, refer to the owners manual, or contact WH Security for assistance
  • Make sure everyone is also aware of your "password," used by the monitoring center to identify the person as an acceptable user of the system
  • Call WH Security to periodically test your system
  • Keep your list of contact people up-to-date
