In the market for a new water heater? We've got a program for you!

Wright-Hennepin (WH) is offering a new Metered Water Heating Program this year. The Metered Water Heating Program allows members who purchase a new electric water heater to pay $0.06/kWh for the energy the water heater uses.

We also have two rebates available for this new metered program. WH is offering up to $200 toward the purchase and installation of a 100-gallon water heater through its Energy-Saving rebate, and $300 through the Conservation Improvement Program. That’s $500 in possible savings! Photo of a Westinghouse electric water heater.

This program is perfect for members who can afford more of the upfront costs that come with purchasing a new water heater, and offers long-term savings through the $0.06/kWh rate in return.
Important rebate specifications:

  • To enroll in this new program, you must install a water heater with a 100-gallon tank or larger with a mixing valve.
  • To qualify for both rebates, the water heater must be installed in our service territory. The member will pay the cost and arrange installation for all special equipment and/or additional switching mechanism necessary.
  • Members must enroll on the Metered Water Storage Energy-Saving Program ($0.06 rate).
  • The water heater will heat every day from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. – storing hot water for usage during the day.
  • Wright Hennepin will provide a metering equipment at no cost to the member. Members enrolled in this program are required to be in place for a minimum of five years.

The rebate amount is in the form of a credit on your electric bill. If you have any questions about this program, call (763) 477-3000 to talk to one of our talented sales team, or fill out the form at the bottom of WH’s electric water heaters page.
