Wright-Hennepin’s Off-Peak Heating programs
Dual Fuel Home Heating Program
- Off-Peak rate = $.049/kWh
- Load Management control
- Up to 400 hours maximum in a heating season
- Control can be up to a maximum of 12 hrs. with a minimum of a one hour restore time between control periods.
- Wright-Hennepin requires adequate automatic back up heating to qualify for Off-Peak rate
- Back up heat must be sized for the entire heating load.
- Back up heating can be in the form of ETS room units, fossil fuel furnaces/boiler and fossil fuel fireplaces with thermostatic control.
- Standby generators are recognized as a back up source, as long as they are adequately sized.
- Receive free Off-Peak meter package $400 value (meter socket, radio receiver and CT, if needed)
Electric or Hydronic radiant floor heating Program
- Off-Peak rate = $.049/kWh
- Load Management control
- Up to 400 hours maximum in a heating season
- Control can be up to a maximum of 12 hrs. with a minimum of a one hour restore time between control periods.
- Wright-Hennepin requires adequate automatic back up heating to qualify for off-peak rate.
- Storage sheds without water supply can be placed on the Dual Fuel program without back up.
- Storage buildings with a water supply will require a signed disclaimer waiver on file at Wright Hennepin Electric.
- Receive free off-peak meter package $400 value (meter socket, radio receiver and CT, if needed)
Electric Thermal Storage Home Heating Program (ETS or Heat Storage)
- Off-Peak rate = $.049/kWh
- Program includes three types of installations: central heating furnaces, room units or slab heating
- Charging or heating times are generally 8 hours per night between 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Room unit heat storage systems qualify as a back up heating source for Dual Fuel heating.
