“I’ve always wanted to own solar, but I couldn’t make the numbers work for my budget.”  Does this statement sound familiar? Well, Wright-Hennepin (WH) has a solution. We are now introducing a very unique way to own solar by pairing two popular options: community solar and $0-down pricing.

Community solar allows members the advantage of generating the energy from their homes or businesses from the sun without the hassle of installing and maintaining solar panels on their roofs.

Here is what our community solar offering will entail:

  • It will be a large, 150 kilowatt array.
  • Under this program, members will be able to purchase energy from a single panel or from as many panels as needed to meet the power needs of their homes, businesses or farms.
  • You can choose to pay for the panels up front, or pay for them through the energy rate.
  • New to this solar community offering will also be the introduction of $0-down financing as part of four rate options for members to choose from. Included in the options are locked-in long-term electricity rates, protecting against future rate increases. In addition, community solar panels are being offered under the cooperative’s newest diversified business: WH Solar LLC.
