Help the environment by saving energy on critical days
We can all do our part to help the environment by conserving energy in our daily routines. There are also times when conservation is even more critical, due to extreme energy use (typically on the hottest and coldest days). You can play an important role during these critical times by conserving energy when Wright-Hennepin issues a conservation alert. Conservation is one of the best ways we can work together to postpone the need to build additional peaking power plants.

You will know when it's a conservation day because:

•Wright-Hennepin will send you and e-mail or text message alert once you sign up for the Conservation Alert Program.
•You may hear public service announcements on KRWC-1360 AM Radio and WCCO-830 AM Radio.
•You can look for a scrolling message on Wright-Hennepin's home page.

What you can do to save energy on Conservation Alert days:

•Wait until 10 p.m. or just before you go to bed to run appliances such as your dishwasher and clothes washer/dryer.
•Use your microwave or an outdoor grill for cooking meals
•Raise or lower your thermostat setting at least two degrees, depending on whether it is summer or winter
