Wright-Hennepin is currently implementing automatic meter reading (AMR) technology at all homes throughout its service territory over a three-year period. Installing AMR equipment enhances energy use information available to individual households and the electric power reliability that WH provides members.
If your home already has AMR meter technology, you can take advantage of online energy use information. If you live in an area that is not already served by AMR meter technology, an employee from Chapman Metering (WH’s contracted vendor) will either change out, or add equipment to, the meters at these homes sometime this year or in 2008.
Members living in northern Maple Grove will be equipped with AMR technology during 2007.
Installation of AMR technology has also been started in the following areas and will be completed sometime in 2008:
Corcoran
Hanover
Greenfield
Long Lake
Loretto
Maple Plain
Maple Grove (remaining areas in southern Maple Grove)
Medina
Plymouth
Rockford
New meters look almost identical to the other meters that are currently in use. During the conversion process there will be a momentary interruption of about 10 seconds to electric service.
