Lifestyles
Your lifestyle can make a difference on your electric bill. Your energy use is most likely different from your neighbor's because the size of their home, the number and type of appliances, and the number of people living in their household are most likely different from yours.

Appliances
If you are thinking of buying new appliances consider Energy Star products, which are given this rating due to their high energy efficiency.

Fuel cost comparison calculators, use these calculators to compare the operating costs of electricity with natural gas, propane or fuel oil.

  There are many small things you can do to save energy around your home. Here are just a few simple ideas:
  • Ensure your house is well insulated
  • Repair leaky faucets immediately so they don't drip and waste hot water.
  • Operate automatic washers and dishwashers only when there is a full load.
  • Turn off excess lights.
