People are always looking for ways to save, whether that be on food, cars, appliances or even electricity. Wright-Hennepin (WH) provides Energy-Saving Programs (ESP) and rebates to help you save on your electric bill. Here are some facts to help you understand what you may be able to take advantage of.
Q: What are Energy-Saving Programs?
A: Energy-Saving Programs can also be known as Off-Peak programs. What they do is spread your energy usage out over a 24-hour period. Doing this helps reduce the overall energy being used at high demand times. Our goal by spreading the usage is to try to reduce the number of peak demands. This helps WH manage energy used and avoid costly spikes in energy costs on a daily basis.
Q: How do they help me?
A: Energy-Saving Programs can benefit you three ways: you can get a credit on your bill, a lower rate per kilowatt hour and are eligible for rebates. These programs help provide cost savings on a monthly basis.
Q: How are rebates paid?
A: Rebates programs at WH are a one-time credit on your electric bill.
Q: Why offer rebates?
A: Rebates help with purchasing new equipment and encourage participation in the programs. They also help bring dollars back to the members to help with purchasing new equipment and also encourages ESP participation.
Q: How do I know I qualify?
A: In order to qualify for WH rebates, you must be enrolled in at least one WH ESP. Refer to our rebates page and information page or call us at (763) 477-3000 for more information on qualifying.
Q: How do I take advantage of rebates?
A: First you need to fill out and submit the proper documents to WH. If the rebate requires program participation, equipment installation may need to be completed. After completing both tasks, you can receive your rebate credit on your WH account.
Q: Is there more than one rebate for the same program?
A: Why, yes there is! For some of the programs there is more than one rebate available. You need to look at the forms carefully and fill both out. Remember to look carefully because some programs only have one rebate, while others have two. Please refer to our informational page to find our rebate forms.
