With summer winding down and winter quickly approaching, I’m sure air conditioning is the last thing on your mind. But with Wright-Hennepin’s rebates, now may be the time to look into upgrading your old unit.

Did you know that if your air conditioner is more than 15 years old, you’re wasting money that you could be putting towards a new, more efficient unit? Going from a 15 year old air conditioner to a new unit with a 15 SEER, the average house could save around $100 per cooling season. Additionally, you could be eligible for up to a $300 rebate on a new unit when it’s installed by a qualified contractor.

If you plan on upgrading your air conditioner, take the time to find out if an air source heat pump would be a better option for you. An air source heat pump is like an air conditioner, but also works to heat your home in the winter. Installing a new air source heat pump can not only save you money on your summer bills, but can also save you more money during the heating season. Wright-Hennepin currently offers a $630 rebate on a 16 SEER air source heat pump, when it’s installed by a qualified contractor.

If you’re really looking to cut down your energy use and are willing to invest in a geothermal system, we offer a $150 per ton rebate on geothermal heat pumps (limited to one unit).

If you don’t have an AC unit, but would like to get one, we also offer a rebate for mini split air source heat pumps. These don’t require ductwork to be installed.

Before deciding on a purchase, go to Wright-Hennepin’s website, and use our energy calculator to see how much money you could save. While you’re on the site, you can also find out more information about energy efficiency rebates.

Rebates are on a first-come first-serve basis. To make sure your system will qualify, call today at (763) 477-3000 to find out more information. All of our rebates go through a third party for verification and quality control.
