Summer load control to begin May 1
Posted by Jeph Novak on April 29, 2021
Wright-Hennepin (WH) will switch its winter Energy-Saving Program to summer load management on May 1. For members who participate in both Dual Fuel and Metered Air Conditioning (AC), the AC will be managed beginning on May 1 during peak demand times.
WH cycles the air conditioning units of members on the programs to save energy. This control occurs on days where energy demand is expected to be higher than normal, such as on particularly hot summer days. On average, members experience load management approximately 15 times per summer and a daily update is posted on WH’s website, and members have the option to sign up for a text and/or email alert.
