Wright-Hennepin's "Stay at Home" action plan

A message from the CEO.

Dear WH member,

At 2:00 p.m. today, March 25, 2020, Governor Walz issued an executive order to ”Stay at Home” effective from March 27 – April 10. You may be concerned about what this means for continued delivery of safe, reliable, affordable electricity.

Please know that the “Stay at Home” order provides exemptions for essential services. As an electric utility, Wright-Hennepin (WH) is classified as an essential service by the Department of Homeland Security. Rest assured, you will receive the same high-quality electric and member service you have long come to expect!

WH Security is also classified as an essential service. Therefore, if you are also a customer of WH Security, reliable service, including 24/7 monitoring of your account, will continue as well.

WH has implemented the following measures both to protect the health of our employees and to do our part to slow the spread of the virus:

  • Our lobby has been closed since Tuesday, March 17.
  • We have suspended disconnection of service for non-payment until July 20.*
  • Our member service representatives will continue to be available by via phone. Our hours have changed to 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.*
  • We have plans in place to ensure lineworkers, member service representatives, energy use consultants, billing staff and others continue to deliver reliable service.
  • Many employees are working from home, while those in the office are practicing social distancing. In addition, we have increased cleaning activities at our office.
  • We have postponed the Annual Meeting, which was scheduled for April 23, 2020.If you need to make a payment, we have several options available.

We are proud to be your energy service provider. Be well and thank you for your business!
