Program Overview

The Commercial Generator Program is designed for commercial members who can reduce their connected electric load to zero during periods of high demand, known as load control events. This can be accomplished by operating an on-site backup generator or by manually shutting down operations.

Participating members help reduce strain on the grid during peak demand and, in return, benefit from a reduced energy rate and increased energy reliability.

How It Works

• Wright-Hennepin monitors demand and issues a load control event when needed.
• If you have a backup generator, WH will automatically start the generator to take your business off the grid temporarily.
• Once the event concludes, your regular service resumes.
