Understanding Your Electric Rates
At Wright-Hennepin (WH), we believe in transparency and providing our members with competitive, reliable service.
Residential Electric Rates
Your residential electric bill includes three key components: a basic service charge, a general energy rate, and a Power Cost Adjustment (PCA) that reflects fluctuations in wholesale power costs.
As of May 1, 2025:
- Basic Monthly Service Charge: $19.90
- General Service Rate: $0.10835 per kWh
- Power Cost Adjustment (PCA): $0.03140 per kWh (subject to change monthly)
WH’s basic service charge ranks among the lowest 20% of Minnesota cooperatives, and our distribution costs are lower than most utilities our size. Approximately 70% of your total rate supports power supply, primarily from Great River Energy and Basin Electric Cooperative, helping ensure a stable, reliable grid.
We’re committed to helping you manage your energy costs with our Energy-Saving Programs, MyMeter tool, Co-op Connections card, and rebates for energy-efficient technologies.
Commercial Electric Rates
