How Does It Work?

The program uses a separate meter for your EV charging station, and your energy rate varies based on the time of day you charge your EV. Charging is available anytime, but you'll save the most by charging overnight during off-peak hours. Rates are not subject to the Power Cost Adjustment (PCA).

• Time-of-Use energy rate up to 50% off the general service rate when you charge overnight.
• Installing a new level 2 charging station? You may qualify for a rebate up to $500 for a battery electric vehicle (BEV) or $150 for a Plug-in hybrid (PHEV).

Requirements

• Vehicle must be a BEV or PHEV with a minimum 4.5 kW charger rating
• New or existing 240V, wall-mounted, hardwired Level 2 charger OR Nema-rated level 2 dedicated charging outlet
• Requires a separate outdoor meter socket
• Enroll in WH's EV Time-of-Use Program

How to Enroll

1. Fill out the form or call us at (763) 477-3000 to discuss program details.
2. Schedule a time to pick up equipment.
3. Contact an electrician to receive a quote for the installation of your Level 2 charging station and metering equipment.
4. Install charging station & metering equipment.
5. Complete state electrical inspection within 30 days of installation.
6. Notify WH that installation is complete. WH will do an ESP inspection. Rates and rebates will not be applied until the final inspection is complete.
7. Submit required rebate paperwork if installing a new hardwired wall mount charging station.
8. We'll activate your Time-of-Use rate and process your bill credit.
