Director Election Voting

Voting is one of the most important ways members participate in Wright-Hennepin’s cooperative governance. This page outlines how Board of Director elections work, who can vote, and the steps to cast your ballot when your district is up for election.

Voting for a Director

Wright-Hennepin’s electric service territory is divided into nine districts, each represented by an elected Director on the Board. Members vote for a Director when their district is up for election.

Election Schedule

  • Districts 2, 5, and 7: 2026

  • Districts 1, 3, and 9: 2027

  • Districts 4, 6, and 8: 2028

Director applications are now available.

How to Vote

Survey & Ballot Systems (SBS), an independent election firm, conducts Wright-Hennepin’s Director elections.

A few weeks before the election, SBS mails a paper ballot to all members in districts with a Director up for election. Members may choose one of the following voting options:

  • Return the paper ballot by mail

  • Vote online

  • Vote in person at Wright-Hennepin’s Annual Meeting

Instructions for online voting are included with the mailed ballot. Voting closes on the day of the Annual Meeting.

Important Notes:

  • Members may vote once per household.

  • If multiple ballots are submitted, only the first vote received will be counted.

  • Election results are announced at the conclusion of the business meeting at the Annual Meeting.

Voting Online

  • Go to www.directvote.net/WHCEA to access the login page of the official WH election.
