Electrical Permits & Inspections
Electric service cannot be provided until all required inspections are completed and approved. All electrical work must meet the National Electrical Code as well as applicable state and local permitting requirements. Completing the correct permit process early helps prevent delays in energizing your project.
City of Plymouth and City of Maple Grove:
These cities have their own electrical permitting and inspection requirements. If your project is located in Plymouth or Maple Grove, you must apply for permits and schedule inspections directly through the city. Once the rough in and final permit is complete, submit a copy to: newservices@whe.org. Visit the links below for specific instructions.

All Other Locations:
Electrical permits must be submitted online through the State of Minnesota. Paper applications are not accepted. Apply through the state’s online permitting system below.
