Director Elections
Each year, Wright-Hennepin members elect directors to represent them on the Cooperative's Board. Directors guide operations, make policy decisions, and uphold member interests, ensuring your cooperative remains focused on serving you. Our district-based election system ensures fair representation from across our service territory.
Democratic Member Control: Your Power, Your Voice
As a cooperative, Wright-Hennepin operates on the principle of Democratic Member Control. This means you, as a member-owner, have a direct say in how your cooperative is run through the election of your Board of Directors. Your participation is vital to our success.
Understanding Director Elections at Wright-Hennepin
Wright-Hennepin is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors, each representing a specific district within our service territory. These directors are elected by you, the members, and meet monthly to oversee financial health, guide operations, set policy, and ensure the Cooperative remains focused on its mission: serving our member-owners.
Each director serves a three-year term, and elections are held annually during our Annual Meeting each spring. Members vote for candidates within their district to ensure local representation and uphold our core cooperative principle of Democratic Member Control.
Election Schedule:
- Districts 2, 5, 7 election: 2026
- Districts 1, 3, 9 election: 2027
