Quick Cash Air Conditioner Program
Please Note: This program is no longer accepting new members.
How it Works
By allowing Wright-Hennepin to manage your air conditioner during peak energy demand, you help conserve energy and reduce overall power costs for the membership.
- Your air conditioner is controlled by a load management receiver installed on the outside of your home.
- During peak demand, the system is cycled on and off at approximately 15-minute intervals.
Current Participant Benefits
Enrolled members continue to receive the following benefits:
- A $5 bill credit on your electric statement from June through November.
- You help the cooperative reduce overall energy demand, which helps manage the cost of energy for all members.
Need to Troubleshoot Your System?
If your air conditioner isn't running, here's a simple checklist to help you troubleshoot before calling for service.
- Is your thermostat set to cool?
You may need to lower the temperature and change the thermostat from "heat" or "off" to "cool". - Is your furnace fan running?
The furnace fan is what circulates the cool air from your AC. If it's not running, you may have a furnace issue. - Is your furnace filter clean?
A dirty filter can cause issues with air circulation. - Is your AC supply breaker on?
This breaker is located inside your home, and sometimes people turn it off in the fall. - Is your AC disconnect on?
This is located near the unit outside your house. Have you given the unit time to start? If this is the first time you've turned it on for the summer, give it 15-30 minutes. Some units have a 15-minute delay built in. - Are you on an Energy-Saving Program?
It is rare, but possible that your load control switch needs to be replaced. Wright-Hennepin will send a consultant to your home to troubleshoot the switch but will not make other repairs to your air conditioner.
