How It Works

Wright-Hennepin owns and operates existing solar arrays as part of our power portfolio. Through the Solar Choice program, you can purchase "energy blocks" from these solar supplies each month.

• Each block you purchase is equivalent to 100 kWh of solar energy.
• The price for each block is $0.16/kWh.

You get the benefits of solar energy, while Wright-Hennepin handles all the maintenance, insurance, and heavy lifting. The solar energy you purchase will be credited to your monthly bill.

Details & Requirements

Eligibility: 
Any member with a home or business in WH's service territory is eligible to participate.

Initial Commitment: 
There is a one-year initial commitment to the program.

Block Quantity: 
You can purchase up to a maximum of five blocks.

Usage Cap: 
The number of Solar Choice blocks you purchase cannot exceed your lowest monthly energy consumption.

Locked-in Rate: 
The price of $0.16/kWh is locked in through 2037.
