How Does It Work?

Water heaters operate during off-peak hours only, charging for 8 hours overnight when energy demand is at a minimum. A mixing valve blends cold and hot water to deliver the desired temperature at your faucet while maximizing the tank's capacity. Your water heater charges between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. (October–April) or 10 p.m. and 9 a.m. (May–September), with no control on weekends or holidays unless peak conditions occur.

Requirements

• 100-gallon electric water heater with mixing valve
• No recirculation systems allowed
• Outdoor installation of ESP receiver and meter
• Cold water lines required for any humidifiers
